Cagliari are planning to buy Radja Nainggolan on a permanent basis from Inter this summer, according to an Italian media report today.

As per FCInterNews.it, the news comes to the delight of the Nerazzurri who are ready to offload the midfielder’s €4.5 million net annual salary.

Nainggolan is valued at €6 million in Inter’s books but Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini will try and include some young players as part of their offer (like he did last summer when he signed Diego Godin).

Cagliari are preparing a three-year deal for the 32-year-old, having intensified talks with Nainggolan’s agent Tommaso Beltrami’s agent recently.

Any deal for Nainggolan, however, rests on the condition that Cagliari avoid relegation from Serie A this season, something which is anything but guaranteed at present.

Nainggolan has made 11 appearances across all competitions for the Rossoblu since his arrival on loan from Inter in January.

His future seems destined to remain in Sardinia beyond the end of this season, as long as Leonardo Semplici can steer Cagliari clear of the drop.
