Roberto Gagliardini could replace Christian Eriksen in the event he is ruled out of Sunday’s Serie A match versus Torino, according to an Italian media report today.

Eriksen is suffering from slight inflammation in his knee and could be forced to miss the game in Turin and as per Gazzetta dello Sport, Gagliardini could be the man that Antonio Conte calls upon to replace him.

Gagliardini last started for Inter at the end of January in the 4-0 win over Benevento and has been limited to substitute appearances in the time since.

Inter are already having to do without Arturo Vidal for the next few weeks as he recovers from surgery on his knee which took place this morning.

While Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Eriksen’s injury is really nothing to worry all that much about, it remains to be seen whether or not the Dane will be able to recover in time for the match against the 18th placed side.
