AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez insists that the title race is still open despite trailing leaders Inter by six points, whilst also claiming Juventus have the strongest squad.

The Rossoneri have enjoyed a fine campaign and led the Serie A table until last month, before allowing Inter to move ahead and open up a gap at the top.

However, the Frenchman insisted that Milan were not out of the running and that the battle for the Scudetto would be closely fought, whilst adding that a group of teams had shown improvement over the past few seasons.

“There is Inter, there is us, Roma, Juve. Two years ago there was only Juve, now we are up there and will fight until the end,” Hernandez claimed in an interview published in today’s magazine edition of SportWeek.

“Inter are a good team but Juve are stronger. It’s not over, everything is still to play for. We have seen teams at the top fall behind even after opening up big leads, and the team in second overtaking them.

“This year it is not easy, even against the smaller teams and the standings matter little. I don’t want to choose between the Scudetto, a place in the Champions League or winning the Europa League. I want it all,” the 23-year-old concluded.

Hernandez joined Milan from Real Madrid in 2019 and has scored 12 goals in 69 appearances for the Rossoneri.

Milan will look to close the gap on leaders Inter when they take on Napoli at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza tomorrow evening.
