Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League leaders Manchester City but has no intention of leaving the Nerazzurri.
The Belgium international moved to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza from Manchester United in 2019 and is Inter’s top scorer this season, with his 18 goals propelling Antonio Conte’s side to a six point lead at the top of Serie A.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester City have identified Lukaku as a replacement for out-of-contract Sergio Aguero, having shown an interest in him last summer.
Lukaku is ready to reject any approaches however and is determined to remain at Inter, with his strong relationship with Conte a key factor, as well as a lethal strike partnership with Lautaro Martinez.
The 27-year-old also considers the style of play in Serie A more suited to his characteristics and Lukaku will not ask Inter for permission to discuss a move with another club.
The former Everton and Chelsea striker has scored 58 goals in 84 appearances for Inter and helped the Nerazzurri reach the Europa League Final last season.
