Inter striker Romelu Lukaku was invited to attend and feature at the Sanremo Music Festival earlier this month, but turned the offer down to focus on his form at the Nerazzurri.

The festival, held every February or March in the Ligurian town, celebrates Italian and international music and was attended this year by AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lukaku was contacted by the organisers of the festival and formally invited to attend.

However, the Belgium international promptly declined the offer, citing a determination to remain focused on Inter’s Scudetto push and maintaining his own impressive form this season.

Lukaku has netted 18 Serie A goals as Inter sit six points clear at the top of the table this season, with the Nerazzurri battling for a first Scudetto since 2010.

The 27-year-old joined Inter from Premier League club Manchester United in 2019 and has gone on to score 58 goals in 84 appearances.
