Inter striker Romelu Lukaku was invited to the Sanremo Music Festival earlier this month, with host and Nerazzurri fan Amadeus keen to see him end his dispute with AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Former Manchester United teammates Lukaku and Ibrahimovic engaged in a bitter argument during Inter’s 2-1 Coppa Italia victory over the Rossoneri in January and had to be separated by teammates.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, the attendance of Ibrahimovic at the festival was seen as an opportunity by host Amadeus to bring the Swede and Lukaku together and reconcile.

The 27-year-old received a formal invitation to the festival in the Ligurian town, but turned the offer down with his sole focus being on continuing his fine campaign with Inter.

Lukaku has scored 18 Serie A goals as the Nerazzurri sit six points clear of Milan in the table, with Antonio Conte’s side looking to seal a first Scudetto since 2010.
