Inter coach Antonio Conte has already begun looking ahead to the summer transfer window and has identified Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri as an ideal target.

The Brazil-born Italian international joined Premier League outfit Chelsea from Roma in January 2018 and spent the final half of the season under Conte at Stamford Bridge until the coach was sacked in July.

According to Calciomercato.com, Conte is determined to bolster his options at left wing-back and is keen to reunite with Emerson, who has struggled for playing time under new Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel.

With Ashley Young’s contract at the Nerazzurri set to expire at the end of the season, Conte is keen to bring in competition for Ivan Perisic and believes 26-year-old Emerson fits the right profile for his squad.

Inter are continuing to monitor the former Santos defender’s situation in West London and will assess any opportunity to move for him in the summer.

Emerson has made 66 appearances for Chelsea since arriving from Roma, helping the club win the Europa League in 2019.
