Inter’s Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen believes that Torino will prove to be a difficult opponent despite their dire position in the league standings.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Inter TV moments ago ahead of the Match Day 27 Serie A clash at the Stadio Grande Torino in Turin, the former Tottenham man underlined that the hosts will be no walkovers.
“I think it will be a difficult match, I know that they are behind in the league and want to fight for every point that is available.
“We also want to do this. We have to maintain our top spot, all the matches are important from this point of view. We know that they are a team that fights, we have to be ready and look to remain concentrated.”
Eriksen then continued to talk about how the Nerazzurri will approach today’s match against the Granata stressing that the team will approach the match in the same way they have approached the other matches.
“I think that we will play in the same way that we have played the other matches, it doesn’t matter in which order we play the matches.
“This is a question that you should ask our coach, we always look to be at our best, as always.”
Moments later he stopped by Sky Sport Italia where he added stating he was happy at the club and his knee was good.
“I am very happy at Inter and my knee is good. I am ready to play.”
The Danish international midfielder will start the match on the bench after suffering a minor inflammation in his knee but was able to participate in training yesterday with the rest of the squad.
Therefore, as has been widely reported, Inter coach Antonio Conte doesn’t want to risk making the injury worse and is resting Eriksen.
Inter are on a winning run having won their last 7 matches in the Serie A.
