Inter’s Argentinian international striker Lautaro Martinez is not worried that his contract extension talks are dragging on, believing that an agreement will be found soon.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia immediately after the win away against Torino where he scored the winning goal, the former Racing Avellanada striker underlined that talks are continuing and that there is nothing to worry about.
“We are working on it. Inter are in difficulty, we are thinking about working but we will find an agreement. I am calm.”
Lautaro Martinez scored the important winner late in the game against Torino which meant that Inter have now won their last 8 matches in the Serie A, an impressive run which brings the Nerazzurri closer to winning the Scudetto.
“Very [important goal]. This was a very difficult match. We knew that Torino are in the bottom in the league table and need points, but so do we to remain at the top of the league. We won and we are happy.
“We train everyday to do things well. We take on the matches in a different manner. You need to have quality, heart and brains. Today, we demonstrated that we want to do something important.”
The Argentinian striker underlined that it doesn’t matter who scores the goals, but that the only thing that matters to him is that Inter win the matches.
“I want to win, who scores is secondary. I am happy for my family who are present when I score.”
Lautaro Martinez signed for Inter in the summer of 2018 in a deal worth reportedly €22.7 million and has since then featured 120 times for the Nerazzurri scoring 46 goals in the process.
