Inter are starting to become reliant upon Christian Eriksen for his invention in midfield, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition pointed out that Eriksen has made a big impact in each of their last two games, which have helped Antonio Conte’s side pull nine points clear at the top of Serie A.

During last week’s win over Atalanta, the Dane delivered the corner from which Milan Skriniar scored the only goal of the match.

Against Torino yesterday, he played the ball to Lautaro Martinez which led to Inter being awarded a penalty at 0-0, with the Milan-based publication admitting they doubted Roberto Gagliardini would have been able to play such a pass.

Conte deserves credit for reviving Eriksen when he seemed devoid of motivation, the report argued, and the same applies to Alexis Sanchez following his recent upturn in form.

Sanchez came on when the game was still 1-1 and delivered the cross which Lautaro headed home to give Inter an all-important, just when a draw seemed the most likely result.

Eriksen and Sanchez are said to have ‘a significant importance’ in Inter’s play now.
