Inter delivered a big psychological blow to their Serie A rivals with yesterday’s win at Torino, according to a report in the Italian media.

The Nerazzurri secured a 2-1 victory late on in Turin to move nine points clear at the top of the table, with AC Milan losing at home to Napoli later in the day.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition argued Inter’s win would be demoralising to the other teams, who will be left wondering when Inter can ever slip-up if they did not do so here, in a difficult match where they were far from their best.

“If this result does not give enough insurance for Inter to win the title, we’re certainly close to that,” the Rome-based publication suggested.

Torino could have been a potential banana skin match for Inter, but Antonio Conte kept his side on the right track and as they often do, they resolved things in the second half of the game.

45 of Inter’s 65 goals this season have in fact come during the second half of games and this is evidence that when other teams get tired, Inter are able to put their overwhelming physical power into play.
