Lautaro Martinez was unsurprisingly named as Inter’s man of the match during their win at Torino by the Italian media today.
The Argentine international won Inter their penalty which Romelu Lukaku slotted home and also scored the winner late on, heading in a cross from Alexis Sanchez to secure a 2-1 victory.
El Toro was rewarded with a rating of 7.5/10 in Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the highest given to any Inter player.
“He is ever more key at Inter and ever more involved in the opposition box,” the Milan-based paper argued.
Sanchez was given a rating of 7/10 while Stefan de Vrij, Nicolo Barella, Christian Eriksen got 6.5 for their efforts at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
Milan Skriniar, Ivan Perisic and Lukaku were all rated 6/10, despite the Belgian scoring the goal which broke the deadlock against Davide Nicola’s side.
The worst player for Inter was deemed to be Roberto Gagliardini, who was rated just 5.5/10, with Gazzetta arguing Inter are a completely different team with Gagliardini compared to when Eriksen is playing.
Samir Handanovic, Alessandro Bastoni, Achraf Hakimi, Marcelo Brozovic and Ashley Young also received the same rating.
