Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will soon sign a contract extension with the club, according to an Italian media report today.

El Toro was the Nerazzurri’s hero yesterday as he headed in a late winner to secure three vital points away at Torino.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition today has confirmed an agreement in principle is in place with Lautaro, which will extend his current deal at Inter by one year.

The 23-year-old will be tied to the club until June 2024 while his salary will be increased to €4.5 million net a year.

Lautaro’s current contract has a €111 million release clause, but this clause will not be present in the Argentine national team representative’s new deal.

The report from the Milan-based news outlet went on to point out that he has matched his personal record for goals in a Serie A season with 14 goals.

Romelu Lukaku has scored 19 league goals this season, but five of those have been penalties, meaning Lautaro is very much keeping pace with his star teammate.
