Inter cannot afford to do without Christian Eriksen’s talent and invention in midfield, according to a report in the Italian media today.
The Danish national team midfielder has turned things around for himself lately at the club and played a big part in the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win at Torino yesterday.
Eriksen did not start the match but came on after 56 minutes and he played the ball to Lautaro Martinez, which ended up with El Toro being fouled and Inter winning a penalty.
Despite only giving the 29-year-old a rating of 6/10 for his performance, Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said: “Inter need his quality.
“They accelerated when Eriksen came on.”
Lautaro was naturally rated as Inter’s best performer at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, taking 7.5/10 thanks to a ‘hugely important’ goal scored late on.
Alexis Sanchez and Stefan de Vrij were the next best players according to this report, with both taking 6.5/10 for their displays.
In addition to Eriksen, Samir Handanovic, Milan Skriniar, Nicolo Barella, Ashley Young, Ivan Perisic and Romelu Lukaku were all rated 6/10.
Alessandro Bastoni, Marcelo Brozovic and Roberto Gagliardini were rated 5.5/10 while the worst performer was Achraf Hakimi, who ‘played with the handbrake on’ and was rated 5/10.
