Danilo D’Ambrosio remains Inter’s only player to currently be positive for COVID-19, according to a report in the Italian media this afternoon.

Inter supporters were alarmed earlier on Tuesday when the Nerazzurri confirmed the defender had returned a positive test, after he was taken unwell last weekend.

FcInter1908.it have provided some much-needed reassurance however, reporting that all of Inter’s other players took tests at the same time as D’Ambrosio yesterday and have come back negative.

D’Ambrosio felt slightly unwell before Sunday’s Serie A fixture at Torino and was immediately distanced from the rest of his teammates, taking a car home to Milan.

Inter’s players have not had any contact with the 32-year-old since then, although the club have nonetheless activated and will continue to follow Serie A’s health protocols.

Antonio Conte will be relieved nobody else has tested positive for the virus, at least not yet, although the situation will have to remain under observation ahead of Saturday’s match against Sassuolo.

It remains to be seen whether D’Ambrosio’s positive test could have any impact on Inter’s players who have been called up for international duty.
