Antonio Conte’s passion and attention to detail mark him out as a unique coach in world football, according to former Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini.

Conte is little over a year and a half into his time in charge at Inter and has them sitting nine points clear at the top of Serie A, with just 11 games to spare.

Cudicini spent two years working as Conte’s assistant at Chelsea and joked he was still plagued by the Nerazzurri boss in his sleep.

“I still dream about him, three years on,” Cudicini told Sky Sport Italia on Monday.

“Conte is a sergeant that brings results, and if he reaches them it means that his methods are right.

“The two things which struck me while working with him were his passion and attention to detail.

“They are the things that make him unique.

“He is a winning coach who demands a lot from his team, who gives 110% and consequently demands 111% from those around him.”

Cudicini went on to draw similarities between Conte’s time at Inter so far and his spell in charge of Chelsea in the Premier League, where he won the 2017 league title.

“With Antonio it is never a smooth journey,” Cudicini recalled.

“It is a bit like being on a roller coaster, but he is a coach who brings the results.

“What is happening at Inter the same as what happened in Antonio’s two years at Chelsea.

“There was a bit of controversy, but in the end it led to a title and an FA Cup.

“There is a long way to go, but Inter are now in an advantageous position to win the league.”

Inter are odds on favourites to win this season’s Scudetto after increasing their lead over second-placed AC Milan last weekend.

The Rossoneri’s defeat at home to Napoli, coupled with Inter’s win at Torino, means they are a very long way clear, although Juventus could close to within seven points if they win their game in hand.
