Christian Eriksen has become a key player for Inter coach Antonio Conte of late, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, the Danish national team player has gone from being a player out of the Nerazzurri project and constantly on the bench to a pivotal player in Conte’s Serie A title-chasing side.

Eriksen’s progress on the pitch has partly come as a result of his game-winning free-kick goal in January’s Coppa Italia quarter-final win over AC Milan.

The 29-year-old admitted himself in an interview yesterday that his goal against the Rossoneri was a turning point in his Inter career.

Eriksen joined Inter in January 2020 and for his first year at the club, he really struggled to perform to expectations and make any sort of impact.

This led to plenty of speculation that he could have left in the most recent January transfer window, with Hertha Berlin, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur all linked.

In the end, no move came to fruition and Conte will be relieved about that given Eriksen’s recent performances for Inter.

Eriksen has made 24 appearance across all competitions this season, in which he has scored one goal.
