Inter attacker Alexis Sanchez is back performing at his best, an Italian media report has argued today.

Tuttosport’s print edition pointed out that the Chilean national team representative had made a real impact in two of Inter’s last three matches, against Parma and Torino away from home.

Sanchez scored a double against Parma but also provided the assist for Lautaro Martinez’s game-winner against Torino on Sunday.

The Turin-based publication said Antonio Conte finally had a real alternative to Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez up front, just as Inter are approaching the decisive phase of their Serie A title charge.

Sanchez should be seen as a third starter given his talent and experience, the report suggested, although it remains highly unlikely that Conte will demote either Lukaku and Lautaro to the bench in his 3-5-2 system.

The former Manchester United and Arsenal forward has now scored five goals and provided six assists this season, with TS arguing he had responded well to Conte’s criticism after last month’s Coppa Italia defeat at home to Juventus.
