Inter are concerned COVID-19 has found its way back into their squad, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the Nerazzurri are due to discover the result of Danilo D’Ambrosio’s COVID-19 test today after he was taken unwell with flu-like symptoms on Sunday.
D’Ambrosio was given a club car to return back to Milan and took the test to check his condition.
If the defender were to test positive for COVID-19, then the whole Inter team would have to go into fiduciary isolation.
Inter were hit hard by COVID-19 during the early part of this season, with several players forced to miss key games in October and November after contracting the virus.
Antonio Conte has not had a player test positive for several months, but several members of the club’s management – including chief executive Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio – caught the virus three weeks ago.
