Lautaro Martinez will soon be able to celebrate his brilliant form by signing a new deal at Inter, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, only the final details are missing and Lautaro has helped negotiations over a new deal along by agreeing to drop his wage demands from the initial request of €5 million (bonuses excluded).

El Toro is currently under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022-23 season but he looks set to extend his stay with the Nerazzurri at least for another season.

The Rome-based news outlet said Lautaro’s late winning goal during Sunday’s 2-1 win at Torino was a sign of further growth from the striker.

The 23-year-old is scoring more regularly now, with the report highlighting his goals are not as spread out as they were in the first half of the season.

Lautaro scored in only two league games out of 11 between Inter’s matches against Sassuolo (in November) and Udinese (in January), but now he is providing a more consistent contribution in front of goal.

He is currently sitting on 14 goals in Serie A this season and with 11 games to spare, the report said Lautaro would be hoping now to reach the 20-goal mark.
