Stefano Sensi now finds himself at the bottom of Inter’s midfield pecking order, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, this became evident when Antonio Conte chose to bring on Matias Vecino instead – who hadn’t featured at all for the Nerazzurri this season – during Sunday’s 2-1 win at Torino.

For this reason, Sensi is now working extra hard in training to move back up the order, as evidenced by the fact that he went in and trained on Monday while the rest of Inter’s players enjoyed a day off.

“Sensi is ready for selection, but after his multitude of physical problems he needs to regain rhythm,” the Turin-based paper explained.

The former Sassuolo midfielder has had various injury problems this season which has drastically limited his time on the pitch.

Sensi clearly has work to do to win back Conte’s trust, with a report last week claiming the Inter boss was worried by his physical and mental fragility.

The 25-year-old is under contract with Inter until the summer of 2024 and has made just 13 appearances in all competitions, with his only start of the campaign coming way back in September against Benevento.
