Arturo Vidal wishes to stay with Inter next season, according to French journalist Francois David today.
In recent days there has been reports that Inter wish to offload the under-performing Chilean and reports today have suggested that new Marseille boss Jorge Sampaoli would like a reunion with the former Bayern Munich star.
However, as per David, who works for Le Parisien, Vidal wants to remain with the Nerazzurri club, who he joined this past summer from Barcelona after a very long courtship.
David refused to rule out the possibility of the current situation changing in the coming weeks, though.
This season Vidal, who is currently side-lined as he recovers from surgery on his knee, has made 30 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored two goals and provided as many assists for his teammates.
Vidal has a contract with Inter until the end of next season and there is an option for it to be extended by a further season.
David posted: “Sampaoli has called Arturo Vidal? For the moment the player wants to have another season at Inter.
“I know quite a bit about the situation, we’ll see if things change within a few weeks.”
