Inter have everything ready to finalise a contract extension with Lautaro Martinez, a report in the Italian media confirmed today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, El Toro is now worth somewhere between €70 million and €120 million for the Nerazzurri, meaning they could secure a healthy profit to balance the club’s books by selling him.

However, Inter have no intention of selling Lautaro after fending off interest from Barcelona last summer, instead tying the forward down to a new three-year deal at San Siro.

The 23-year-old will have his wages increased to €4.5 million plus add-ons until the summer of 2024, while his €111 million release clause is also due to be removed.

Lautaro has an amortised value of €11.6 million in Inter’s accounts for this season, meaning any fee the club received above that would give them a profit for the striker.

There is clearly no chance of the Nerazzurri letting their star striker leave however, because Antonio Conte and the club want to build their team around him for future years.

Lautaro has made 37 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists.
