Inter have confirmed another member of their ‘team group’ has tested positive for COVID-19 today.

The Nerazzurri have already recorded four cases within their first-team squad this week, namely Stefan de Vrij, Matias Vecino, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Samir Handanovic.

As reported by FcInterNews.it, Inter have now released a statement confirming there is now a fifth positive case, although they did not specify whether it was a player or someone else.

“FC Internazionale Milano, following the tests carried out yesterday, announce that a member of the team group has tested positive,” the club said.

“More tests were completed on the group today.”

FcInter1908.it have reported that the anonymity could point towards it being a member of Antonio Conte’s staff which has tested positive, suggesting that they might have requested not to be named.

La Repubblica’s Franco Vanni has also reported on Twitter that it is likely a member of Inter’s staff to have tested positive today.

Inter’s Serie A fixture at home to Sassuolo, scheduled to take place tomorrow, was postponed yesterday following the club’s COVID-19 outbreak, with Milan’s local health authority moving quickly to prevent the further spread of the virus.

The Nerazzurri’s players have also been banned from joining up with their national teams next week, because they are obliged to remain in isolation at home for 14 days (apart from travelling to training, which is due to resume on Monday).
