Inter have taken to Twitter to recall one of their famous Milan derby wins from Giovanni Trapattoni’s time in charge of the club.
The Nerazzurri were the allocated ‘away’ side for the game in which they ‘flexed their muscles’ and ran out 3-1 winners against AC Milan on March 18 in 1990, 31 years ago on Thursday.
Aldo Serena scored twice for the Nerazzurri while Lothar Matthaus got the other goal from the penalty spot.
Inter finished in third place that season, seven points behind champions Napoli, a year on from winning their record-breaking Serie A title-winning campaign.
