Inter could still lose players to international call-ups over the coming week, despite an outbreak of COVID-19 at the club.

The Nerazzurri have seen today’s Serie A match against Sassuolo postponed after a number of positive cases were returned, with the local health authority (ASL) ordering a suspension of all activity until Sunday.

However, as reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have come under pressure from national teams to release players for the upcoming international window, including Italy.

It is reported that the next two days will be decisive in determining if players can join up with their compatriots, as the period of isolation imposed by ASL ends at midnight on Sunday, potentially freeing players up on Monday.

Whilst the ASL had ordered all Inter players to remain in Milan until the end of the month, negative tests on Monday and the absence of any new cases could see the authority change it’s mind and sanction the release of players.
