Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has been named in Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad for next week’s FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Lukaku’s inclusion in the 32-man squad comes at a time when Inter’s players have been banned from leaving Milan until March 31, after several positive COVID-19 cases at the club this week.

The 27-year-old is not one of the players to have tested positive, but Milan’s local health authority took action to ban players from leaving until the end of the month and explicitly banned players from attending national team duty.

Martinez remains hopeful he can have Lukaku available for the games against Wales, Czech Republic and Belarus, but it seems highly unlikely he will get his wish.
