Marseille are likely to miss out on signing Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer, with the Chilean’s wage demands a key factor.

The former Juventus midfielder had been linked with a move to the Ligue 1 club after a disappointing debut season at Inter, with a move to France affording him the opportunity to reunite with former Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli.

However, according to French outlet Le10Sport, Marseille would not be able to match Vidal’s €6 million per year salary at Inter and his high wages are set to prove a stumbling block to any transfer.

The Nerazzurri would be willing to sell the 33-year-old as they look to raise funds, with Vidal still having another year left on the contract he signed upon joining from Barcelona in 2020.

Vidal, currently out with a knee injury, has scored two goals in 30 appearances for Inter this season as Antonio Conte’s side sit nine points clear at the top of the Serie A table.
