Inter are awaiting the results of their most recent round of COVID-19 tests and could lose a host of players to international duty should they return negatively.

The Nerazzurri squad are currently in isolation after an outbreak of the coronavirus last week, with Danilo D’Ambrosio, Samir Handanovic, Stefan De Vrij and Matias Vecino all testing positive.

With tests on Saturday showing no other players infected, and only a backroom member of staff testing positive, Sky Sport 24 report that four national teams will submit appeals to the local health authority (ASL) to release players for international duty should the negative returns continue into Monday.

Belgium are hoping to be able to call upon striker Romelu Lukaku, whilst Denmark are pushing for midfielder Christian Eriksen to be released.

Elsewhere, Croatia have submitted an appeal to be able to call up midfielders Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic, whilst Slovakia are looking to bring in defender Milan Skriniar.

However, the players would be at risk of fines should they depart for international duty, with mandatory periods of isolation restricting travel outside of Italy.
