Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti was joined by wing-back Matteo Darmian in promoting a campaign combatting racism, with a session aimed at the club’s youth sector.
With growing cases of discrimination across football, the Nerazzurri have thrown their support behind the Lega Serie A’s ‘Keep Racism Out’ message, but also sought to promote their own initiative.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, former captain Zanetti and Italian international Darmian participated in a virtual meeting with the boys and girls of Inter’s youngest age groups on Thursday to help promote a message of anti-racism and discuss the issue.
The pair joined the meeting live and sought to educate the youth team players, whilst pre-recorded messages from FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Italian Football Federation (FIGC) President Giovanni Malago were also displayed.
Thursday was dedicated as a national day of combatting racism in football and Inter were keen to play a stronger role.
