Inter have no reason to get rid of Antonio Conte at the end of this season, at least according to a leading Italian broadcaster.
Conte is contracted to the Nerazzurri until the summer of 2022 but there is uncertainty surrounding his future, not least because of Inter’s well-documented financial troubles.
Sky Sport 24, via FcIn1908.it, explained that it would ‘benefit everyone’ if Inter and Conte agreed to see out the final year of his deal together.
“To say it in his words, Conte’s future is from here until June,” Matteo Barzaghi reported, explaining that Conte’s only focus at the moment was delivering the Serie A title for Inter.
“He’s dependent on results like everyone.
“If he won the Scudetto, it would be unlikely that Inter decide to bid farewell to him and vice versa.”
Conte signed a very expensive contract in order to become Inter’s head coach in the summer of 2019, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic damaged football’s financial landscape.
He came close to leaving Inter last summer, after criticising the club on certain aspects at the end of the season, before agreeing to continue after a summit in Villa Bellini.
