Benevento boss Pippo Inzaghi is ‘convinced’ Inter will get the job done this season and win their first Serie A title in 11 years.

The Nerazzurri are six points clear of AC Milan at the top of the table with 11 matches to spare, although Inter have a game in hand after Saturday’s fixture against Sassuolo was postponed.

Antonio Conte’s side have been able to focus mostly on their league commitments since they were dumped out of Europe in December, pulling out a gap over the Rossoneri and Juventus.

AC Milan and Juventus now also have no other distractions, but Inzaghi nonetheless told Gazzetta dello Sport today: “I said it when Inter went out of the Champions League, with only one game a week they won’t have many rivals.

“I remain convinced now, even though AC Milan have exceeded all expectations this season.”

Inter’s next Serie A fixture will be at Bologna on April 3, when Conte will hope to have the likes of Samir Handanovic and Stefan de Vrij available again after they contracted COVID-19.

Inzaghi gave his former Juventus teammate a huge helping hand on Sunday when his Benevento side beat Juventus 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium.
