Inter loanee Valentino Lazaro is no closer to finding out whether he will be staying at Borussia Monchengladbach next season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Lazaro is on a season-long loan with the Bundesliga outfit, who will change head coach in the summer when current boss Marco Rose joins Borussia Dortmund.

Tuttosport’s print edition said it would be up to Gladbach’s new head coach and the club to decide the Austrian’s future, but a lot would depend on how Lazaro ends this season.

In that sense, they argued it was a good sign for Inter – who want €12 million to sell Lazaro – that the 25-year-old had started five of their last six games.

Lazaro has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Rose’s side, including one against Inter during the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

He also provided an assist in that match at Borussia-Park, although Antonio Conte’s side went on to win 3-2.
