Inter are reaping the rewards of two years of stability under Antonio Conte, according to former Lazio coach Delio Rossi.

The Nerazzurri have been through countless head coaches since winning the treble in 2010 and no boss has lasted more than two full seasons in charge.

Conte is coming towards the end of his second campaign as head coach and it looks as if Inter – who are six points clear at the top of Serie A – are benefiting from keeping him last summer, when Conte seemed likely to leave.

“I’m not surprised Inter are top of the league,” Rossi admitted in an interview with Rai Radio 1 Sport, as quoted by FcInterNews.it.

“They’ve built on their work from last season and they have an important coach.

“I think they’ll win the league.”

Conte’s side have the chance to re-establish their nine-point lead over AC Milan at the top of the table when they play Bologna and Sassuolo in the space of five days, after the international break.

Inter’s fixture against the Neroverdi was rearranged for Wednesday April 7 after the game was postponed last week due to the club’s COVID-19 outbreak.
