Inter will need to improve on their previous showings after long breaks this season, a report in the Italian media highlighted today.
Antonio Conte’s side will now face three games in nine days from next weekend, after their postponed Serie A fixture against Sassuolo was officially rescheduled today for April 7.
Tuttosport’s print edition pointed out that the Nerazzurri had yet to win two games in a row following a two-week break during the current campaign.
Bologna and Sassuolo will be Inter’s first two opponents once Conte’s side return to league action in April.
Inter picked up just one point from their first two games after the October international break, losing 2-1 in the derby against AC Milan before drawing at home to Borussia Monchengladbach in the UEFA Champions League.
They then suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Real Madrid in their second match after the November pause, three days after they had come from behind to beat Torino 4-2.
Inter also dropped precious points after returning after Christmas, following up the 6-2 win at home to Crotone with a 2-1 loss at Sampdoria.
