Inter are planning to bring full-back Federico Dimarco back to the club this summer, according to a report in the Italian media.

The Nerazzurri have decided to stick with Ivan Perisic as their first-choice left wing-back for next season, following the Croatian’s impressive transformation under Antonio Conte.

Calciomercato.com said Conte would ideally want either Emerson Palmieri or Marcos Alonso from Chelsea as back-up to the Croatian, but both targets are too expensive.

Inter have therefore turned their attention to Dimarco, who has caught the eye during his second season on loan at Hellas Verona.

The Gialloblu have an option to make the 23-year-old’s move permanent for €4.5 million at the end of the current campaign, the report explained.

However, Inter would then have a counter-option to re-sign Dimarco for €6 million if they wished to return him to Conte.

In any case, CM assured that Inter and Hellas Verona were on great terms and could negotiate a deal which satisfied both clubs.

For instance, Inter could renew Eddie Salcedo’s loan with Ivan Juric’s side for another season, or they could loan centre-back Lorenzo Pirola (currently at Monza in Serie B) to them as part of the deal.
