Achraf Hakimi Ready To Become Inter Icon As Nerazzurri Prepare Real Madrid Payment, Italian Media Report

Achraf Hakimi is ready to become a pillar of Inter’s future team, according to a report in the Italian media today.

The wing-back is enjoying an excellent moment both for his club and country, with Morocco officially securing qualification for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tonight thanks to results elsewhere.

As per Calciomercato.com, Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano confirmed earlier this week that decision to join Inter came from the 22-year-old himself.

He finally signed for the Nerazzurri after Piero Ausilio had followed him for two years and now is on course to become an icon at the club.

Inter must pay Real Madrid their first €10 million instalment of Hakimi’s €40 million transfer fee before the end of March, the report continued, in order to help secure a licence for UEFA competitions next year.

They were able to agree a deferral with Los Blancos following the onset of their financial difficulties – thanks in no small part to the clubs’ great relations – but they will deliver the necessary money before next week’s deadline.

Hakimi’s signing has helped transform Antonio Conte’s side into Serie A title favourites this season, with the wing-back having provided six goals and six assists in all competitions.

CM said he had established himself as one of the best full-backs or wing-backs in Europe, capable of making the difference in attack but also an improved player in defence (thanks to Conte’s work on him).
