Lautaro Martinez’s value has more than tripled since he joined Inter back in 2018, according to a report in the Italian media today.
El Toro joined the Nerazzurri in a €25 million deal from Racing Club three summers ago and has become a key player for Antonio Conte’s side.
Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition argued that Inter had got a bargain with that fee, because Lautaro was now worth ‘at least €80 million’.
The 23-year-old has already matched his personal best goal tally for a Serie A campaign (14), and there are still 11 games left this season.
Lautaro is now turning his attention to signing a contract extension at Inter but the report assured this was a mere formality.
Inter have already agreed new terms with the striker’s entourage for a three-year deal (until 2024), which will see Lautaro’s wages rise to €4.5 million.
The Nerazzurri are also expected to remove his €111 million release clause, which left them somewhat exposed to interest in Lautaro from big clubs abroad.
