Samir Handanovic does not know yet whether he will remain Inter’s first-choice goalkeeper for next season, according to a report in the Italian media.

Tuttosport’s print edition said the Slovenian’s future would be determined by what happens off the field at the Nerazzurri, with owners Suning battling financial problems.

Whether Suning remain in charge with fresh economic resources or sell the club to new owners could make a big difference to Handanovic’s prospects.

Inter could keep the 36-year-old with Andrei Radu as back-up, or they could invest in a new goalkeeper to give him competition in goal.

Udinese’s Juan Musso, Cagliari’s Alessio Cragno, Napoli’s Alex Meret, Atalanta’s Pierluigi Gollini and Sampdoria’s Emil Audero were all touted by the Turin-based paper as possible replacements for Handanovic.

Inter also have two promising young goalkeepers to keep an eye on though, namely Filip Stankovic (who is impressing for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera) and Michele Di Gregorio, who is doing well on loan at Monza in Serie B.
