Milan Skriniar was full of gratitude on Friday after receiving a special award back home in Slovakia.

The Inter defender won the Slovak Footballer of the Year award for the second year running, a prize handed out by Slovakia’s FA in conjunction with news outlet Pravda.

Skriniar celebrated his achievement with a post on Instagram which showed him receiving the award and giving his acceptance speech.

The 26-year-old, who played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday as Slovakia drew 0-0 in Cyprus, added: “Thanks to all of you!”
