Juan Musso remains Inter’s preferred choice to replace Samir Handanovic in goal, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri wanted a goalkeeper who was ready to make an impact immediately, ruling out promotions for Gabriel Brazao or Filip Stankovic.

Musso is Inter’s first choice but he would cost a lot of money to sign from Udinese.

Inter are also fond of Alessio Cragno at Cagliari and Alex Meret at Udinese, as well as Granada shot-stopper Rui Silva (but he is about to join Real Betis).

The club will consider their options in more detail once owners Suning have sorted their imminent financial problems and secured fresh liquidity.

Handanovic will remain in place until that moment, and he could start at Bologna on Saturday after testing negative for COVID-19 yesterday.

He has not missed a single minute of action for Inter this season (37 games in all competitions) and will undergo fitness tests today, which should clear him to return to training with the Nerazzurri’s first-team squad.
