Andrea Ranocchia is ready to step in for Stefan de Vrij for Inter against Bologna on Saturday, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition confirmed De Vrij, Matias Vecino and Danilo D’Ambrosio had all tested positive again for COVID-19 yesterday, while Samir Handanovic tested negative.

If De Vrij needs to sit out the fixture at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara it will be Ranocchia who fills in for Antonio Conte in defence.

Ranocchia is one of the players who has remained at Appiano Gentile throughout the international break and would therefore be ready to play.

Elsewhere, the Rome-based publication said Arturo Vidal was eager to get back into action for Inter as he continues his recovery from knee surgery.

Vidal underwent the operation on March 12 and was training alone at Appiano Gentile yesterday as Inter’s other players had the day off.

He hopes to make the bench for the game at Bologna, although it is more likely he will return for next Wednesday’s rearranged match at home to Sassuolo.
