Samir Handanovic has a good chance of starting for Inter in Saturday’s Serie A fixture at Bologna, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the goalkeeper returned a negative COVID-19 test yesterday and is therefore in contention to play for the Nerazzurri at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Handanovic has not missed a single minute of football for Inter this season and the 36-year-old is likely to keep that record going against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side.

The Slovenian will undergo fitness tests today to verify his condition, after which he should re-join his Inter teammates in training at Appiano Gentile.

RB Leipzig keeper Peter Gulacsi and Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter are another two players who have played every minute of their team’s matches this season.

Handanovic was set to miss Inter’s match against Sassuolo two weekends ago, but the match was ultimately postponed after the club’s COVID-19 outbreak.
