Matias Vecino has become the second Inter player to recover from COVID-19 this month, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said the midfielder had tested negative again for the virus, having first contracted it on March 18.

Vecino will now undergo fitness tests to verify his condition and then he can return to training with his Nerazzurri teammates, ahead of Saturday’s Serie A fixture at Bologna.

Stefan de Vrij and Danilo D’Ambrosio remain positive for COVID-19, putting their presence at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in further doubt.

Samir Handanovic was the first of Inter’s quartet to recover from the virus at the weekend and the Slovenian was expected to re-join training today.

Antonio Conte’s side will be looking to defend their six-point lead over AC Milan at the top of the table on matchday 28, where they will come up against their former player and assistant coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.
