Inter should be looking to sign one of two players at left wing-back in the summer, according to the Nerazzurri’s former defender Francesco Colonnese.

Antonio Conte has enjoyed great success with Ivan Perisic since the turn of the year, who has revitalised his career in Milan after spending last season on loan at Bayern Munich.

Despite this, Inter are thought to be seeking a reinforcement on the left wing in the upcoming transfer window, with persistent links to Atalanta’s Robin Gosens.

Asked by FcInter1908.it about the idea of signing the German, though, Colonnese said: “I like Gosens a lot, but I prefer Leonardo Spinazzola, he’s Italian.

“There’s Emerson Palmieri as well, they’re two players I think would be suited to Inter.

“Gosens scares me a bit because he’s been playing brilliantly for two seasons and he might not be able to repeat that form (at Inter).

“What’s more, he would also cost a lot.

“I think the other two, on the other hand, would be more accessible.”

Spinazzola almost swapped Roma for Inter in last year’s January transfer window, only for the deal to fall through due to the Nerazzurri’s concerns over his injury record.

He has scored twice and provided eight assists for the Giallorossi this season, having made 35 appearances in all competitions.

Emerson has made 13 appearances for Chelsea in the current campaign, scoring his only goal of the season against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League earlier this month.
