Antonio Conte welcomed five key players back to Inter from international duty today, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.

Sky Sport Italia (via FcInter1908.it) confirmed Romelu Lukaku, Ivan Perisic, Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar and Achraf Hakimi all returned to Appiano Gentile as scheduled.

All five completed a COVID-19 test and trained separately from their teammates while they wait for the results to come back.

Conte should have his first-team squad back to full strength again tomorrow, when Inter will properly begin preparing Saturday’s Serie A match at Bologna.

Inter’s remaining international players – Nicolo Barella, Stefano Sensi, Alessandro Bastoni, Christian Eriksen and Andrei Radu – will all return tomorrow, giving them just one training session (on Friday) before the game at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Conte is hoping he does not receive any unpleasant news before then regarding injuries or COVID-19, with the Nerazzurri now obliged to resume where they left off at Torino three weeks ago.

Inter are six points clear of second-placed AC Milan (with a game in hand) after an eight-game winning run in the league.
