Roberto Gagliardini is likely to keep his place in Inter’s starting XI for Saturday’s trip to Bologna, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Christian Eriksen could be rested at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara after returning only today from his international duties with Denmark.

Gagliardini started Inter’s last match at Torino on March 14 and the Italian is favourite to get the nod again this weekend.

Samir Handanovic will be in goal as normal after testing negative for COVID-19, while Andrea Ranocchia is expected to deputise for Stefan de Vrij (although De Vrij did himself test negative today).

Danilo D’Ambrosio remains positive for the virus and will therefore sit out the match against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side.

Antonio Conte wants to defend Inter’s six-point lead over AC Milan at the top of the Serie A table, before Wednesday’s rearranged fixture at home to Sassuolo.
