Inter have what it takes to secure the Serie A title before they get to their tricky final few games, according to Nerazzurri legend Alessandro Altobelli.

Antonio Conte’s side are six points clear of second-placed AC Milan (with a game in hand), as they prepare to return to action away at Bologna tomorrow.

Inter have 11 games separating them from a first league title since 2010, but Conte’s men play Roma and Juventus in consecutive games on matchdays 36 and 37.

However, Altobelli told Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview for today’s print edition: “Every game will be tough from now until the end.

“As soon as you underestimate a match, you’ll lose it, and that’s not a cliché because it’s the reality.

“The risk of Inter taking their eye off the ball is very much reduced with Conte in charge, though.

“It wouldn’t be fun to play Roma and Juventus one after another at the end of the season, but you really can hope that the Scudetto will already be won by then.”

Altobelli was also asked what he thought would be key factors for Inter as they hunt down the Scudetto.

The legendary former striker said: “Inter’s secret weapon really is their team spirit.

“And then obviously you have Romelu Lukaku, who’s the leader of the team and the man who finishes off everyone else’s build-up play.”

Lukaku has scored 25 goals in all competitions for Inter this season and was on target for Belgium as well in FIFA World Cup qualifying last week.

Conte has no intention of resting the Belgian for tomorrow’s trip to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, where Inter will be seeking a ninth straight win in Serie A.
