Ashley Young is in contention to start for Inter in tomorrow’s trip to play Bologna, according to an Italian media report.

Gazzetta dello Sport‘s online edition said Antonio Conte’s team selection for the match at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara would depend on Inter’s international players and what state they have returned in.

Young could potentially replace Ivan Perisic at left wing-back against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side, while Roberto Gagliardini is battling Christian Eriksen for a spot in midfield.

Alexis Sanchez is also hoping to start, although Romelu Lukaku – who played twice for Belgium last week – is hardly ever rested by Conte and remains favourite to play alongside Lautaro Martinez.

Conte has guided Inter’s non-international players through intense double training sessions at Appiano Gentile this week, the report continued.

Lautaro, Sanchez and co. have continued to ‘breathe Inter’ on a daily basis during the international break – but unlike those who flew home to play for their countries, none of them have played a competitive fixture for three weeks.

Conte has a difficult set of choices to make for tomorrow’s game, with Inter set to play three matches in nine days (with Sassuolo and Cagliari as the next two opponents after Bologna).
