Christian Eriksen is back to his brilliant best at Inter now, according to the Nerazzurri’s former midfielder Evaristo Beccalossi.

The Dane endured a torrid first 12 months in Italy after his €20 million move from Tottenham Hotspur, but since the January transfer window ended he has become a key player in Antonio Conte’s side.

Eriksen is potentially going to be rested for tonight’s Serie A match at Bologna, with Roberto Gagliardini taking his place if so.

Asked what Inter’s biggest weapon in the Serie A title run-in would be though, Beccalossi told Gazzetta dello Sport: “The strength of this team is the group, which is ever more united.

“Romelu Lukaku and Nicolo Barella are certainly key players and now Antonio Conte has found the real Eriksen again.

“Inter need to take one game at a time and stay calm.

“They’re aware of their own strengths but they mustn’t underestimate any opponent between now and the end of the season.”

Beccalossi also believes Inter do not need to fear AC Milan and Juventus as their biggest rivals now.

Instead, he identified a very different kind of opponent which could derail the Nerazzurri’s title charge.

“Inter’s most dangerous rival at the moment is COVID-19,” Beccalossi argued, following the club’s COVID-19 outbreak before the international break.

“If they stay healthy Conte’s side is a strong and solid team, I don’t think anyone can stop them in the league now.”

Inter are six points clear of AC Milan with 11 games remaining, ahead of tonight’s tricky trip to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Bologna.
